Electrification Coming to Bromsgrove
Birmingham’s Cross City line currently links Lichfield and Redditch via Birmingham New Street, running six trains each hour. Trains travelling south either terminate at Redditch (two per hour) or Longbridge (four per hour).
Centro intends to extend the “electrification between Longbridge and Bromsgrove” allowing the service to be extended to Bromsgrove. This would allow three trains each hour to Birmingham New street and beyond originating from Bromsgrove. The other three trains would originate from Redditch though this would need a passing loop on the line.
The trains run by London Midland and Arriva Cross Country currently stopping at Bromsgrove would continue to do so.
