The funding issues for Bromsgrove station have now been resolved.

1. West Midlands Regional Tpt Partnership went public on 16/02/09 with a recommended Funding Allocation of £7.5 million to make up the shortfall for Bromsgrove’s new station.

2. This funding allocation can be found on Page 34 of Appendix 2 ref Tpt Programme. In the middle of third text block down entitled:- Rail Matched Funding.

3. This RFA recommendation will then go forward to DfT Rail, who will have the last word to sanction it ( Or not). But as infrastructure projects are V. hot topics for HM Governments Keynesian style rejuvenation of the UK economy (After Western Banks induced an Economic recession based upon toxic debts arising from avaricious buying and selling of extremely dodgy sub-prime mortgages) then its likely to get the green light .

In conclusion, the Bromsgrove Station re-location is part of a much bigger Rail Network enhancement in NE Worcestershire, ( between B'ham and Cheltenham) which will have enormous operational benefits both for Network Rail and the travelling public. That is Operationally, Environmentally and with substantially increased network capacity to carry more trains... with more productivity as a result.

In the long term, (2014 onwards) this will mean six trains an hour north from Bromsgrove, with substantially reduced congestion , due to all trains being four , six or even nine cars long on the X-city line electrified service to Lichfield.
