About BARRUP

BARRUP is the successor to BRUG (Bromsgrove Rail User Group), which was one of the driving forces in getting both the Interchange station at Bromsgrove completed in 2016 and the Cross City Line extended to the Station in 2018.

Both of these developments have improved greatly services to and from all stations between Bromsgrove and Birmingham New Street

In 2020, BRUG became BARRUP and its remit was widened to include the rail user interests of neighbouring stations in North East Worcestershire, namely Alvechurch, Barnt Green and Redditch.

The main purpose of BARRUP is to work with Bromsgrove District Council, Cross Country Trains, Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful, Network Rail, West Midlands Railways, Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership, Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, and all other interested parties, to improve the station facilities and passenger services for all four stations.

This will benefit both existing and potential rail users, offering more rail services and destinations and will bring greater connectivity and thus significant economic, environmental and social benefits to the residents and businesses of North East Worcestershire.
